Luciftias debuts on Webbed Hand with a contribution to the Rain series, a minimalistic yet evocative drone-ambient composition.
About the album:
"I have enjoyed rain from the time I was a child: the gentle patter of it on the roof, the particular smell after a thunderstorm, and the sense of renewal that it brings. To be able to marry the soothing sound of rain with droning ambience appealed greatly to me, and it is my pleasure to contribute to Webbed Hand's "Rain" series.
"Rain" was created from heavily manipulated found sound samples and was recorded February 14-21 at Ritual Xul.
Luciftias is an experimental ambient/drone project from Meadville, Pennsylvania. Conceptually launched with a handful of noise recordings in 1993 but formed in name in the year 2000. Early inspiration was taken from the sonic artistry of Boyd Rice/NON and various sound related concepts presented in select writings by the late Anton Szandor LaVey. Early material (2000-2006) was usually noise and ambient oriented with elements of drone doom and industrial being introduced into middle period works (2006-2008). Since 2008, material has focused on dark/deep ambient and drone, often with heavy usage of brainwave entrainment/synchronization." - Luciftias
Rain is a series of conceptual tracks produced for Webbed Hand Records. Each "Rain" is a CD-length ambient recording ideal for quiet listening while meditating, writing, or going to sleep. Typically the recordings in this series are minimalistic soundscapes, with motifs played out cyclically rather than progressively, in order to induce relaxed states.

subtle, smooth & soothing
Smooth & soothing, but not as minimalist as it may seems. I mean I've heard a subtle composition work in this track, and not only looping like in many ambient projects...
